This English translation is provided for convenience: the French version, the conditions générales de vente, prevails.
Scope
These terms apply to the private English lessons Nelson Rogers gives to individuals. The client is the adult learner, or the parent (or legal guardian) who books lessons for a minor. Booking a paid lesson means accepting these terms.

The lessons
- Private English lessons of one to two hours, built around the learner’s goals, materials provided.
- At Nelson Rogers’s home in L’Arbresle, online (Zoom, Meet or Teams), or at the learner’s home on request, up to 10 minutes’ drive away (20 minutes there and back).
- For online lessons, the learner needs a computer or tablet, an internet connection and a microphone.
- Nelson Rogers undertakes to give careful, tailored lessons (an obligation of means). Progress also depends on the learner’s own work: no exam result is guaranteed.

Prices are in euros, net: VAT not applicable (French General Tax Code, art. 293 B). A two-hour lesson counts as two hours (€60, or two hours of a pack). The price that applies is the one shown on the pricing page on the day of booking; a pack already paid for keeps its price. A special rate may be agreed in writing with a learner: it then replaces these prices for their lessons.
Booking
Lessons are booked by phone, by email or through the contact form. A lesson is booked once Nelson Rogers confirms its date, time, place and package by message.
Payment
- By cash, bank transfer (standard or instant) or cheque payable to Nelson Rogers. CESU vouchers are not accepted.
- A lesson is paid on the day or in the days that follow, within 7 days at the latest.
- A pack is paid in full when you choose it; another schedule can be agreed. It is for one learner and is used within 12 months of payment.
- An invoice is given for every payment.
Cancelling and rescheduling
- By the client: a lesson cancelled or moved at least 24 hours ahead (by phone, text or email) is not charged. Cancelled less than 24 hours ahead, or missed, it is charged (or taken from the pack), except in case of force majeure.
- By Nelson Rogers: the lesson is moved to a time that suits both, or not charged (refunded if already paid).
- A learner arriving late does not extend the lesson. Time lost by the teacher’s lateness is made up, in the same lesson or the next.
Right of withdrawal
When the contract is made at a distance (phone, email, form) or off-premises (at the learner’s home), the client has 14 days from its conclusion to withdraw, without giving a reason (French Consumer Code, articles L221-18 and following).
For a lesson to take place within those 14 days, the client asks for it expressly when booking. If they then withdraw, they pay for the lessons already given at the price of their package (for example €27 an hour for a pack of 5), and the rest is refunded (article L221-25).
To withdraw, send the form below, or any other clear statement, by email or by post before the period ends. The refund is made within 14 days, by the same means of payment or by bank transfer.
Unused lessons
After the withdrawal period, the unused lessons of a pack are refunded on request: the lessons already taken are then counted at the single-lesson price (€30 an hour, or the special rate agreed), and the rest is refunded by bank transfer within 14 days.
Referrals
- The referrer gets one free hour for each referred learner who has taken at least 3 paid lessons.
- The referred learner gets 50% off their first paid lesson.
- Free hours cannot be exchanged for money.
Liability
Outside lesson time, journeys included, a minor remains in their parents’ care. Nelson Rogers is not responsible for an online lesson disrupted by the learner’s equipment or connection; time lost on his side is made up.

Disputes and consumer mediation
In the event of a dispute, Nelson Rogers EI and the client will try to settle it amicably: the client first sends a written complaint to nelsonrogers.pro@gmail.com. Failing an amicable agreement, or without an answer within one month, a client who is a consumer under article L612-2 of the French Consumer Code may refer the dispute free of charge, if disagreement remains, to the competent mediator on the list kept by the French commission for the evaluation and control of consumer mediation (article L615-1 of the same code), within one year of their written complaint:

Applicable law
These terms are governed by French law. Failing an amicable settlement or mediation, a dispute goes to the court that has jurisdiction under the French Code of Civil Procedure and Consumer Code.
